Remember, and wait.
“Don’t be afraid! Work and wait together for the restoration of all things.
…
Remember who you are in the great plan of God.
The Father knew you, loved you and planned your redemption before the foundation of all the worlds.
Remember, too, his Son the Lord Jesus Christ who accomplished your redemption on the cross and gives it to you by his grace.
And remember and rest in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit who is applying the redemption to our lives even today.
Amen? “
AMEN!
This is the benediction my paster (and friend) has been giving our congregation for years, preceded by a summation of his most recent message (one that has also been among his most meaningful for me). I thought, perhaps, I’d pass on some words that have given me such comfort.

Homework?
I have four books to read - books assigned by yours truly. I checked them out from the library the other day when I had time to kill between classes. Apparently, there’s a part of me that thinks I don’t have enough to do already. Or maybe I’ve learned to be more hopeful of accomplishing my far-fetched dreams, like being better read on the obscure film topics I’ve become semi-obsessed with. Here are the titles; I’m bound to quote from them in future posts:
The Art of Cinema by Jean Cocteau
Screening Modernism: European Art Cinema, 1950-1980 by Andras Balint Kovacs
Aesthetics of Film with Jacques Aumont, Alain Bergala, Michel Marie, and Marc Vernet
What is Cinema? by Andre Bazin (Essays selected and translated by Hugh Gray) -
“Cinema is the most beautiful fraud in the world.” - Jean-Luc Godard
