This is the benediction my paster (and friend) has been giving our congregation for years, preceded by a summation of his most recent message (one that has also been among his most meaningful for me). I thought, perhaps, I’d pass on some words that have given me such comfort.

I have four books to read - books assigned by yours truly. I checked them out from the library the other day when I had time to kill between classes. Apparently, there’s a part of me that thinks I don’t have enough to do already. Or maybe I’ve learned to be more hopeful of accomplishing my far-fetched dreams, like being better read on the obscure film topics I’ve become semi-obsessed with.
